There are five versions of this film. The original cinema version, the director's cut (apparently a bit of a rush job) which was released eleven years afterward, the international version, the workprint version and the 'final cut' (director's cut, not a rush job). Finally got a good DVD release on it's twenty fifth anniversary.

Bruce Willis is dead pan, Gary Oldman is evil, Chris Tucker is OTT, Milla Jovovich talks a made up language, there's lots of humour, lots of action, and the whole thing looks stunning.

The first one was great, the second one was good but with pointless bits, the third was disappointing and I left the cinema turned to the people I was with and said, 'so what actually happened in the end then?'. Where it all went wrong has been debated at great length by some on the interweb.

A relatively low budget film mostly ignored on release but seemingly ever increasing in popularity. Will probably leave you with the feeling that you didn't really understand it so will have to watch it again. And again.

The original three films remain the best. They didn't have Jar Jar 'yousa think I'm bloody annoying?' Binks in them for one thing.
Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Clerks 2. Six films from Kevin Smith set in and around New Jersey. The films are all very different but reference each other, and relations of characters from the other films tend to pop up here and there.
Like MTV only with better music and without the countless shows that don't have anything to do with music.
24/7 music videos all selected by people foolish enough to request them via the premium rate phone number. I can't help but think that the channel's image is let down by the frequent ad breaks and their contents. See the ads are just the same as on other channels - very un-rock n roll things like insurance, loans, credit cards, toothpaste and the like. It's a bit odd to see that stuff sandwiched between videos by Iron Maiden and KoЯn.

The final episode was made over twenty years ago, (half the population of the US tuned in to watch it), and the oldest episodes are older than I am, but it stands the test of time.

There's several things about the first two series of Red Dwarf that set it apart from the rest. They had, IMO, the best version of Holly, and the best opening title sequence. Yes the sets were drab, and it all looked very low budget, but that didn't matter. They also differed from later series in mood. They were I think more about the loneliness of Lister's situation as the last surviving human stuck on a mining ship 3 million years into deep space, where as in later series the show turned more in to crazy antics in space.

Still going strong after fifteen years. Possibly starting to suffer from over exposure with Sky's constant re-runs and the way they show new episodes at random intervals to ensure the maximum possibility of you missing them because you didn't realise they were on. The first couple of seasons suffer from dodgy drawing and Homer's voice being all 'wrong'.

Dang good television, I'll tell you what.

Stop that, it's silly.

Comedy, but no studio audience because it just wouldn't work with one. It's kinda like... no other show I can think of.

Matt Lucas and David Walliams bring you sketches depicting life in Britain today. Tom 'Dr Who?' Baker does the narration, and Anthony 'I only use my middle name in the US' Head plays the Prime Minister.

A sitcom that aimed higher than the lowest common denominator.
[ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firefly_(television_series) ]
Originally shown in the US on the FOX network who repeatedly pre-empted episodes, showed them out of sequence, then cancelled the show part way through it's first season. Has since gone on to gain critical acclaim and DVD sales sufficient to result in a movie, Serenity [ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serenity_(film) ]. If ever an example were needed of of TV network not knowing quality programming if it bit them on the ass, this show is it.
